Throughout this class, keep in mind a cowboy's wisdom: "Good judgement comes from experience." You may ask, "How do I get experience?" Bad judgement works every time.

My point? Don't be afraid to make mistakes in this class, but make sure you learn from them!

Announcements

• REMINDER: All files should be submitted to WebCT. Only the script should be printed and submitted to me directly.
• Lab 11 is due Friday, depending on your lab.
• Please run all script programs in the XTerm instead of in Emacs. Otherwise, I can't read the input.

Common Problems

• Initialize variables.
• Write comments that clearly describe what you're trying to do.
• Print out your variables at intermediate steps to catch bugs sooner.

• If you email me a programming question, it's a good idea to send me your program and the error that you're getting. I can rarely guess what exact problem you're having without seeing the code.
• Read the lab before coming to class.
• After completing a lab, review the lab's goals to make sure you understand what you were supposed to get out of the lab.
